“Over the past few years, Kris and the entire commission have done an outstanding job of keeping our City financially strong. The City hasn't raised taxes in 17 years. Kris has no plans to raise taxes. The City has a balanced budget and very high reserves of $21M which is at 29% of operations...an outstanding percentage. In addition, the City of WP has the highly coveted AAA financial rating from Moody & Fitch which only 2% of cities in the United States attain.
Winter Park has the second lowest property tax (millage) rate in all of Central Florida, second only to Windermere. We also enjoy the very lowest electric rates in Central Florida.
During Kris's tenure, the parks and playing fields have been greatly improved. And the police and fire departments are now fully funded. The City of WP's police and fire response times are some of the lowest in the entire state -- an average of less than 3 minutes.
It's also important to note that Kris's financial campaign support is from residents like us. Unlike his opponent, Kris's campaign is not funded by big WP developers or the WP Chamber of Commerce PAC.
